Searching for any relatives of Ivor James Pugh family (my grandfather) of Erwood, nr Builth Wells, Powys (formerly radnorshire), Wales, UK and surrounding areas. Also any Pugh relatives in Merthyr Tydfil area, South Wales, UK.
Ena Pugh and Lily Millward, who will be 100 years and ten months on November 4th, were given the accolade by Guinness World records after checking their birth certificates. Ena married railwayman Ivor who died more than 20 years ago. She still lives in her country cottage where she raised their three children - and now has ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren The sisters live just a dozen miles away from each other in the fresh air of the Welsh countryside - Ena at Erwood, near Builth Wells, and Lily still in her home village of Garthbrengy, near Brecon, but in a different house. ..... I met Ena last year at the old Toll House Erwood. She was in good health! Hope this helps!
We met Ena, along with a social worker, while looking at Erwood and surroundings for potential ancestors. We had a nice chat with her, and took a photo of Ivor's portrait hanging above the mantlepiece. There was a surprising resemblance to ME, and we all had a good laugh.
I think our family of Pughs came from Llanynis, Maesmynis, or LLandewi Cwm, and further North. We got back to about 1714 in LLanfihangel Nant Bran. Brecknockshire, and as far as I can see we aren't closely related to you.. Maybe in the 1600(?)
I have a hunch that the Pughs came from Montgomeryshire and Merionethshire with Llewellyn's army when he got defeated bythe British near Builth Wells.

I'm Ena's grandaughter, we all had a party 2 weeks ago for Nana (Ena) & Lillys 103rd birthday. They are both fit and well.

It was really odd receiving a message from a David Pugh as my dad is also called David Pugh and looks very much like his father
I haven't got very far with the family tree as there's only Nana, my father and his brother Doug, and when you want to know something in particular like names & dates they usually can't remember on the spot, nowadays I carry a notebook with me so when they mention anything important I scribble it down!
