looking for info on a baby girl phillips that is the name on hospital certificate born october 5 1982 in chillicothe ohio please help don't know if deceased or adopted
My great grandmothers father listed himself on 4 of 5 known childrens birth certificates as either Thomas Harvey or Harvey Thomas PHILLIPS (one 2 it is one, and swapped around on the other 2). The fifth child does not appear to have been registered. These children were all born in Victoria, Australia. Thomas/Havey consistently gave his birthplace as New York, North America.
What I do know: Thomas/Harvey was born about 1828 in New York, North America. By 1859/1860 he is in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia were he marries Elizabeth WILKINSON (although I can find no record of this). Elizabeth is orginally from Worksop, Nottinghamshire, England and was born about 1837. They had 5 known children in Victoria: April 1861 Hannah Selina (who married James SCALES in 1877, and died about 1924); December 1862 Wilkinson Lorenzo (marriage and death unknown); February 1865 Elizabeth Angela (marriage and death unknown); about 1867 Henrietta Naomi (no record of birth registration, but is listed as sibling on registration of younger sibling; married1 Edward John GRAIL 1888, married2 William Edward Eldad PLAYER 1943; died 1944); December 1869 Harvey Ernest (marraige unknown, died 1943). I have been unable to locate death records for either Thomas/Harvey or his spouse Elizabeth in Australia.
Does anyone have any information which may be related to this family???
Hi my name is Betty. Elizabeth was my Grandmother not to be confused with the Elizabeth Wilkinson its the Elizabeth Angela she married a James Samuel Robert Freeman in Victoria. she died in sefton Park Adelaide in my mothers house her grave site is in west tce cemetry. She had 9 children.
Thank-you so much for this it was very difficult to find any information about her. I am so happy this information has certainly solved some of the mystery. My mother always said nanna had come from America when I was doing research I was getting dead ends. I am happy to post or email you any other information.
I was also wondering what was their profession in America. Elizabeth was born in the rural area of Victoria (Numurak) Why did they come to Australia? Were they farmers??
Would like any information on the Phillips family. They were in Dunstable Bedfordshire England area. Ethel Ellen b1884, Vincent Frederick Charles Phillips b1886 Caroline Agnes b1887, William Hubert b1889 Gertrude May b1891 George Thomas b1893,Daisy b1894.
Hester or Ester Phillips (1834 - 1900) was my great great grandmother. Her son was Solon D. Phillips. I believe that she was born in North Carolina. In 1880 she lived in Wayne County, TN. At her death she lived in Lauderdale County, AL.
I am at a complete dead end in trying to determine who her husband was, any of her siblings, her maiden name, or any information at all about her or her ancestors.
If anyone can provide any clues or leads it would certainly be appreciated.
