Hello, My Name is Russ. Kristian Martinus and Jenny Pedersen were my Grandparents. I'm not sure what kind of information you need, but I would be happy to obtain whatever I can. My Dad Burt and Uncle Neils are still living.
neils is my grandfather!!! how cool is that??? i'd welcome any info you have, because i can hardly find any info on kristen or jenny, and it's very frustrating!!! i didn't realize burt was still alive, married, or that he had kids. do you have any siblings? :-) that's not in any info i have. sorry. thanks for replying!!!! ~angela
Hi Angela! Very cool to meet a cousin! Is Uncle Neils your Grandfather or Great Grandfather? I haven't seen Marty, Gayle, or Cheryl for years! and it's horrible but I can't remember the other daughter, I want to say Eddie? Have you been the "PLU" Pacific Lutheran University site yet? They have some information on Grandma Jenny. I've tried numerous times to get any copies of the transcripts from them, but never a reply from them.
I have 1 younger sister, and 1 older half brother. Cynthia and David. David has a different last name as he was adopted by his step-father.
I was talking to Dad today and he was rattling off all kinds of history about our family and about some of the people that used to live in the Ballard, Black Diamond, Bainbridge Island areas. He still remembers alot of that stuff.
I don't remember Grandpa Kris very well, I was no more than 5 or 6 when he passed away. He used to take Cindy and me down to Juanita beach and feed the ducks, and I remember him playing his concertina (accordian) a tiny bit, and I remember him driving us around in that big old car he had, I think it was green. I wish I had known him better.
Grandma Jenny was a fascinating woman. She was involved with her church, did lots of sewing for people. I don't know if Uncle Neils' kids got put through it, but when we stayed with Grandma she taught us how to sew. I remember her telling me that "You might marry you a woman someday that don't know how to fix your socks, and you need to know how to fix your socks", of course with her Danish accent. Funny part was... she was right, but nobody fixes socks anymore, but we learned!
She was an amazing host. It seemed like you were there only for minutes and there was an enormous feast that just somehow magically appeared on the kitchen table there in Kirkland. I remember my Mom telling me that Grandma Jenny always told her that you must be ready for guests at any time, so she had meals prepared and frozen and she would whip them out into her magic oven and Presto! a Feast!
I think I can dredge up several more stories, probably too long for this venue, and I'm out of time, I have a meeting to get too. We need to exchange email addresses so we can talk further. I have a fake-a-loo email address I use for subscribing to stuff online when I don't want the junk email clogging my real email. write me a line at: mark_zinder2002@yahoo.com Don't ask me how I came up with that name, just pulled it out of the air, but it works well for protecting my real email address.
Great to hear from you so soon, was worried it would be a while
my mother is from denmark and her surname is Pedersen if you are still interested in Kristen Martinus Pedersen, i can ask her if he is a relative of us and tell you more information about him.
