TOBIN ANCRESTRY I am looking, (Seriously, aren't we all) for relatives who immigrated from somewhere in Ireland, and may have planted their roots to areas like, Sydney, St.George, and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and parts of New England, mostly (as far as I know) in Massachusetts areas, back in the 1800's. My dad, VINCENT JOHN TOBIN, (born in Cambridge, MA) and his brother named FRANCIS XAVIER JOSEPH TOBIN. (…or FRANCIS JOSEPH XAVIER) Their father, RICHARD HENRY TOBIN, (married FRANCIS KERMER, b.1888) Richard Henry's father, William Henry Tobin, and his father Nicholas Tobin....my Great, Great, Grandfather who was FIRST married to CATHERINE SHEA, had the following Children, MARY JOSEPHINE TOBIN, b.1875 > CATHERINE TOBIN, b.1879 > JOHN FRANCIS TOBIN, b.1882 > When William Henry remarried to MARY DORAN (Stapleton) WIFE # 2, they had two kids, RICHARD HENRY TOBIN B.1893 > NICHOLAS FRANCIS TOBIN 1896-1978. William Henry's parents were NICHOLAS TOBIN AND ANN TEMPERANCE WILSON. That's where it ends so far with me and the Nicholas Tobin line. ANN TEMPERANCE WILSON'S parents were JOHN WOOTZEN (or WILSON) b.1786 d. 1806, and ELEANOR BATTERSBY, b. 1786 d. September 14, 1806. On a side note* Mary Doran [B.1856] (Stapleton) which was William Henry Tobin' 2nd wife, her parents were RICHARD DORAN AND ELLEN CLAIRE. And that's all I have for Mary. Also, I have nothing for William Henry's 1st wife, CATHERINE SHEA and her lineage before her. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, and I’m very sorry if I got some of this wrong. Thank you! James
FRANCIS JOSEPH XAVIER TOBIN was my only uncle on my father's side. I don't know much about him. My Father, VINCENT JOHN, (1920-1993) passed away before I could ask him about his family. All I have So far on my dad's side, is that his parents were-RICHARD HENRY TOBIN, (MARRIED TO FRANCIS KERMER, which may or may not have brother named, JOHN J. KERMER) And their parents were -WILLIAM HENRY TOBIN (MARRIED TWICE, 1st wife, CATHERINE SHEA, and had the following children - a) MARY JOSEPHINE TOBIN, b.1875> b) CATHERINE TOBIN, b.1879> c) JOHN FRANCIS TOBIN, b.1882> William H. My father was VINCENT JOHN TOBIN, and had a brother, FRANCIS EXAVIER JOSEPH TOBIN…… (OR FRANCIS JOSEPH XAVIER TOBIN) I know just a little bit about my grandfather, RICHARD HENRY TOBIN, who was married to FRANCIS KERMER, my grandmother, is not a lot. All I know (or think I know) about FRANCIS’ parents, were RICHARD JAMES KERMER (b.1846-d.1870) married to CATHERINE COVEY (b.1846-?) That is sadly all I have. now the COVEY may have been spelled KEVAY, and the kermer, KURMUR, not sure. Thank you for any possible help. James Tobin
John Wootzen (Wilson) Eleanor Batersby (1780’s-1800’s) Hello, I am looking for any info on JOHN WOOTZEN, or WILSON (b.1784-d. 1806) AND/OR his wife, ELEANOR BATERSBY, (b.1786-d.1806) These two were the parents of my Great-great grandfather, NICHOLAS TOBIN (b.1798,- d.1887)who was married to ANN TEMPERANCE WILSON (b.1807- d.1889) ...And Nicholas & Ann T. Wilson, were the parents of WILLIAM HENRY TOBIN, who married twice, the first wife, CATHERINE SHEA, (no dates) and the second wife was, MARY DORAN (STAPLETON) [b.1856-?) William H. Tobin / 1st wife, Catherine Shea children- MARY JOSEPHINE TOBIN, b.1875 > CATHERINE TOBIN, b.1879 > JOHN FRANCIS TOBIN, b.1882 > William H. Tobin / 2nd wife. MARY DORAN (Stapleton) children- RICHARD HENRY TOBIN B.1893 > NICHOLAS FRANCIS TOBIN 1896-1978. RICHARD HENRY TOBIN was my grandfather, and was married to FRANCIS KERMER (b.1888-?) They had two sons, my father, VINCENT JOHN, & FRANCIS XAVIER JOSEPH TOBIN. I have no information on FRANCIS, my uncle. My father passed away in 1993, before I got interested in genealogy, which is sad that I had not asked him anything about his family lineage.

Looking for Charles Brown, Boston 1830. He departed New York, 1854, aboard the 'Wide Awake" arriving in Sydney, Australia Dec 20. 1854. He was married in 1855 to Barbara Speedie. Looking for information on his siblings if any, and parents. Son's birth certificate reveals this information. All suggestions and help thankfully accepted.
