My McIntyre family.s history in India began around1797 when Donald McIntyre joined the Scots Brigade. Donald McIntyre was listed as ’private on duty’ on Muster Roll 25/6/1804 - 24/12/1804 of 94th Regiment of Foot, Scotch Brigade. In 1806 he was a Sergeant Hd Md. Donald transferred to the Madras Medical Services / Indian Medical Dept. where he was appointed as sub- assistant surgeon. I'm trying to find out if Donald was born in Scotland and moved to India or if he originally went to the US and then to India. I will post my Family Tree soon and do have more information on his son Peter. I'd appreciate any and all responses if you have information on Donald.
