MICHAEL MCEVOY Prisoner 25-Jul-1832 1803 QUEEN'S CO LAOIS (QUEEN'S) Prison Registers 1790-1924 MICHAEL MCEVOY Prisoner 25-Jul-1832 1803 QUEEN'S CO LAOIS (QUEEN'S) Prison Registers 1790-1924 Information so far has revealed........
Michael was born in Queens County Ireland in 1804, give or take.
At this time the records that I have been able to find does not confirm his exact true identity. However in saying that there are too many coincidences for it not to be. From what I have found Michael McEvoy aka McAvoy sailed to Port Jackson on the ship Roslin Castle 2 (or perhaps 5 depending on hand writing.) The ship sailed from Cork and arrived in Port Jackson on the 25 February 1936. Further searches reveal: Details Alias: Irish Rebel: WB Religion: Catholic Age on arrival: 28 Marital status: Single Calling/trade: Servant farm Born: 1805 Native place: Queens Co Tried: 1832 Queens Co Sentence: Life Former convictions: Ship: Roslin Castle (3) [1833] Crime: Assaulting dwelling Other research shows that he married Bridget Tracey in 1842, the reference numbers are V18421258 91/1842 V1842485 130/1842, and was given a pardon in 1847. Any information would be greatly appreciated Thankyou
