My MASTERS family start out in the area of the Mendip Hills. The towns of Pilton, Shepton Mallet, Doulting and North Wootton are all mentioned in the events that take place during the time that I have records for.
After arrival min Australia in January 1841 minus his wife, she died after giving birth, both the infant and his mother were buried at sea, not long before asrrival. The family settled in the area of what is now known as St Mary's, out west of Sydney and near Penrith. Late in James Masters life just prior to the 11850's he was in Parramatta where he died in 1852.

Florence (Joan Mary) Masters was born in 1904 in Wickhambreaux, England and died in 1977 in California. Her family knew her as "Joan Mary" and only discovered her given name was "Florence" after her death. She married John Morgan O'Rourke.
