Thomas Peter McDonald arrived in South Africa about 1812 from Tipperary, Ireland. His parents Dennis McDonald and Mary Brownlee had gone there from Scotland. When he was born c. 1795 the family was living in Ireland. According to family tradition Thomas Peter accompanied his cousin John Brownlee who was a missionary of the London Missionary Society to South Africa. They married cousins in South Africa at a town called Swellendam.
I am looking to find the connection in Scotland. The Brownlees came from Wishaw. Lanarkshire. Acording to family tradition Dennis McDonald was from the MacDonalds of Glencoe. Can Anyone Help. Please.
I found a website that sells family history books and what makes it unique is that with each book comes a free searchable CD, no other site offer this kind of deal.
They have those books that I have been searching for a long time.
