My notes say that Emily died in 1889.
Her 5th child was Edward, b. 1886.
So if this photo is 1886, that would be Mother Emily!
The boy on the right sure looks like
our grandfather Martin, b. 1877, so he would be age 9.
Then Ellen, b. 1884, age 2
Alfred, b. 1872, age 14.
Mary Ada, b. 1869, age 17.
