Recently my uncle, Kenny Dobbins was laid to rest at Dobbins Cemetary in White County Indiana - of the remaining 16 grandchildren of uncle Kenny's parents 8 of them were present for the ceremony. Possibly the last time this will occur. Years ago the Dobbins name was large in Jasper and White counties - but now that is a thing of the past and those remaining are scattered across the nation and the ones my generation knew are gathered at Dobbins cemetary - so long live the memories for that is all that remains and when my generation is passed the story will be near it's final chapter as those that follow us won't know or won't care - so the gathering of 8 of us to honor the WWII hero in my opinion was a historic moment - if but just for a heartbeat - God bless those that were in front of us and those that follow
Signed - Neal J. Michal, Jr. - grandson of Delbert and Flo Dobbins
