Heyward Caddell N. CHARLESTON - Master Chief Petty Officer Heyward Caddell, 89, husband of Joan O.Ca
ddell, entered into eternal rest on Thursday evening [4/5/12] at his home surrounded by his family. The relatives and friends of Mr. Heyward Caddell are invited to attend his funeral services on Monday, April 9, 2012 at two o'clock pm at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 7113 Rivers Ave., N. Charleston, SC 29406. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home. Heyward was born November 10, 1922 in Bonneau, SC, to the late Iverson Caddell and Louise Heape Caddell. Heyward joined the CCC's where as a young man he grew up working across this country he so loved. He joined the U.S. Navy
in 1941 and served in the South Pacific as a Hospital Corpsman and saw service during the Korean war
and World War II
. He retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer with 28 years of faithful and honorable service. He then retired from the Coastal Center where he served as purchasing agent after many years. He was a life member of VFW
Post # 3142, he loved to bowl and was a member of the Brunswick Bowling Alley, Senior Bowling League for many years. Heyward was preceded in death by his first wife and mother to his children; Ann Francis, his sisters Mavie, Louise and brothers Claudie and Cecil as well as his parents Ivy and Louise. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joan O. Caddell, and his children; Robert, Paula, Kim, Cheryl, John and Christopher, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
