Missing pieces

I would like to know why my greatgrandfather changed his name from Nybyggar to Bloomquist.  He was born in Finland and sold horses in Sweden.  He met and married my greatgrandmother, SIGRED Backland.  he emigrated to USA in 1892 and was going to send for his family.  He died in 1914 as a miner.

would like to know why he may have changed his name, as it doesnt look like any of his other family did.
