About our family
Our family tree is like a present at Christmas, your happy to get it but when you open it your not sure you should have. My dad's family came from Germany-Russia, there are only about 6 generations so far that I can find. My mom's family came from Norway, we can find most of the family, but we manage to lose grandma & her mother between 1900 & 1914 and gt grandma is nowhere to be found. We have come to find out that there is dwarfism on my mothers side, and provaracators, big time. So we are not sure of many of the facts that we did find. On my girls side of the family, there are people that did not know their father nor did any of the family want to speak about him. Rest of the Barnhill clan isn't to hard to find, once we get to the real names, and not something they were called from the day that they were born. I won't say whose family it is but there have been some real scroundrels, fathers that aren't fathers and mothers that keep secrets, hangings and sucides and I have only just begun. There have also been Revolutionary war heros too. So I guess all in all out family isn't much different from every other family out there, but at least I want to get in on record so our great grandchildren and beyond don't have to go through all the trouble that we are having trying to piece things together.
Missing pieces
We are missing the history of my great Grandmother after 1900 in Norway Dorte Jonsdatr.Stangaland Roth, has totally vanished. We know her daughter (my grandmother came over in 1902,at age 8. Not sure who she was with,Anyone knowing anything, Please contact me at johndea@centurylink.net
