About our family

My father, Felix Vital Leu, was a Swiss citizen, making me first generation American on his side.  His surname was LEU: The name means "lion" indicating a strong, courageous man. Middle High German Lewe/Lev means lion. The name evolved from Leones to Leu.

My mother, Andrea Eleanor Campbell, was a Scottish descendent. Her father was Malcolm Alan Campbell.  CAMPBELL: "Crooked or wry mouth," often used to describe a man whose mouth inclined a little on one side. From the Scots Gaelic "Caimbeul" from the Gaelic cam meaning "crooked or distorted" and beul for "mouth." Gillespie O Duibhne was the first to have borne the name, and founded clan Campbell at the beginning of the ...13th century.

My mother's mother was Inez Heyman Campbell, descended from Heymans, of Germany.  She actually also had a Swiss grandmother I recently found out, Verena Buser Ballmer Heyman.

Missing pieces

My father's mother was Eva Aeppli.  I know very little about the Swiss family of Aepplis and would like to know more.

I also know very, very little about the Leu branch of the tree.

Soon I will be receiving a Rekas family tree from my fiancee's relative.
